Knoxville City Departments Seeking ResidentÂ’s Views on Speeding Reports Greg Coleman Law

 



(LegalLaw247.com, August 22, 2013 ) Knoxville, TN – The Knoxville Engineering Department and Office of Neighborhoods is seeking residential opinions on controlling speeding in residential areas. Five meetings have been set-up to hear resident’s views on the best ways to control speeding.

Furthermore, residents will be able to provide feedback through a traffic calming website that is set to launch in September. Residents will be able to provide their opinions on different types of speed-calming methods such as speed bumps and look through online links to traffic-calming resources.

The schedule for the meeting is as follows:

September 16th - North Knoxville — 5:30 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 5337 Jacksboro Pike
September 30th - South Knoxville — 6 p.m. at the Woodlawn Christian Church, 4339 Woodlawn Pike
October 10th - West Knoxville — 6 p.m. at the Arnstein Jewish Community Center, 6800 Deane Hill Dr.
October 14th - Northwest Knoxville — 6 p.m. at the Northwest Middle School, 5301 Pleasant Ridge Rd.
October 22nd - East Knoxville — 5:30 p.m. at the John T. O’Connor Senior Center, 611 Winona St.

According to the Tennessee Department of Safety there were more 100 car accidents in which the driver was speeding too fast for conditions, and in as of August 2013 there have been at least 30 speed-related collisions.
