New Hampshire Legislator Pushes for Rehab Funding, Drug and Alcohol Rehab New Hampshire Comments

(LegalLaw247.com, February 22, 2017 ) Concord, NH -- NHPR reports that Senator Jay Kahn has introduced a bill that would increase state funding of substance abuse recovery programs derived from taxes on alcohol sales. New Hampshire already has a fund in place, however it has been underfunded since 2000. Sen. Kahn presented the bill in order to deliver on the state's promise to address the opioid crisis.

At the heart of the opioid crisis are facilities offering heroin rehab in New Hampshire. As a leader in the industry, Drug and Alcohol Rehab New Hampshire fully supports state legislative action to fund rehabilitative efforts throughout the state.

A representative of Drug and Alcohol Rehab New Hampshire comments,

"New Hampshire is one of the most heavily impacted states when it comes to the opioid abuse epidemic in the United States. Having this type of fund available for recovery efforts is crucial to success in saving lives. We absolutely urge state legislators to support Senator Jay Kahn's bill for increasing funding for preventive efforts and treatment for substance abuse disorders. Greater accessibility to recovery resources is one of best ways we can help those in need."
