According to the Florida Highway Patrol, hit-and-run accidents have increased over the past two years. In 2012, nearly 70,000 hit-and-run crashes occurred across the state.

Unfortunately, South Florida has seen its share of hit-and-run crashes. Last year, Broward County ranked second among Florida’s counties for hit-and-runs, with 7,587 crashes, up 8 percent from 2011. Palm Beach County had 3,381 hit-and-run accidents in 2012.
