Nov 8 (Reuters) - Ally Financial Inc (GKM.N), the U.S. auto and mortgage lender, is considering putting its Residential Capital LLC (ResCap) mortgage-lending unit into bankruptcy protection, the Wall Street Journal reported on its website.
