(, November 11, 2011 ) Birmingham, AL -- In 2009, the latest year for which information is available, there were a total of 123,690 traffic accidents reported in the state of Alabama. Of these reported accidents, 27,667 caused injury to one or more of the individuals involved. This represents an 8% increase in accidents causing injury from the previous year, though the total number of accidents actually decreased slightly in the same period.
