New Jersey Civil Rights Attorney Serves on School Bullying Rights Panel

(, December 14, 2011 ) Mount Laurel, NJ - On December 6, 2011, partner Kevin Costello served as a panelist advising lawyers on the rights of students to be free of bias-based harassment and bullying in New Jersey schools.

"This is an issue which isn't just current," says Kevin, a civil rights and employment lawyer in New Jersey. "It's critical to a healthy state and a healthy future not only to educate students on why bias-based bullying is so wrong, but also to make sure school and district officials are cognizant of their responsibilities to the students who are bullied, and to their families," Kevin says. "Bias-based bullying based on race, sexual orientation, disability and gender is on the rise, sadly, and I always appreciate being asked to educate lawyers and officials on how to prevent, investigate and punish this sort of thing. Bullied students don't learn as well and can become troubled, unwell adults. It's not fair and it's an epidemic problem which needs to be thoroughly address by and in the law."

Kevin has been serving as a chair or speaker on employment, school and civil rights matters for the majority of his career.
