Talking Points: Verbal Defense & Influence names its 12 points of light for 2012

(LegalLaw247.com, December 22, 2011 ) December 16, 2011 Milwaukee, Wis. To keep everyone safer in schools, on the job and within their communities, Verbal Defense & Influence has identified the 12 initiatives that will grow and expand in 2012. They include:

Interventions for health care: Violence in hospitals is a growing danger; a study of emergency room nurses alone revealed that within one week, half had been verbally abused and one in 10 had been physically threatened. Our programming ranges from training caregivers to institutional protocol and assessments. For more information visit http://verbaldefenseandinfluence.com/health-care.

Coming together: Trainers from all corners of the U.S. (including Guam) gathered for intensive learning and discussions at the first-ever national conference. Plans are set for an expanded conference, November 9-11, 2012, in Milwaukee, Wis. Visit http://vistelar.com/vdiconference.

Anti-bullying strategies: This strong focus area will continue to grow, through outreach to parents (http://managebullying.com) and extracurricular programming. Already, some 250 martial arts schools around the country are using this methodology. View feedback from martial arts schools at http://verbalmartialartscourse.com/tme.

Emergency dispatch training: Effective methods to take command, de-escalate crisis situations and minimize on-the-job stressors are taught through Dispatch Judo. Courses will be held in 24 states across the nation. Visit http://verbaldefenseandinfluence.com/health-care.

These initiatives serve to move forward the vision of Dr. George Thompson, founder of this methodology (once known as Verbal Judo). Thompson died unexpectedly in June, 2011.

Carrying on Docs legacy has meant expanding our reach and touching people where they need it most, in their relationships with customers, co-workers, students, friends, and even difficult people, said Verbal Defense & Influence Director Gary T. Klugiewicz.
