MICHAEL SHAFFER FILES PAPERWORK TO RUN FOR NC’S 9TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

He served in the United States Marine Corps from April 1978 to May, 1998; retiring at the Rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. Upon retirement Michael entered the workforce after obtaining his Real Estate Salesman License. In 2000, Michael earned his Broker License and subsequently opened his own Real Estate Company.

Michael has a strong Conservative and Constitutional Belief. He believes the oath he took as a Marine to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies did not dissolve upon retirement.

Michael strongly believes that the current leadership is not responsive to the needs of the American people. The debt, unbalanced budget and unfunded social programs are a threat to our national security. Michael is dedicated to stopping the fraud, waste, and abuse in our political system. Furthermore he strongly believes that Government is too big. He believe now is the time to downsize the governmental burden by eliminating numerous agencies and regulations. Michael believes that by cutting the government and decreasing taxes, the economy will grow.
