The Szantho Law Firm filed a complaint for unspecified damages on behalf of Jacobs and Sawyer on Jan. 11, 2012, and will represent them in court at the beginning of next year. After a hearing during which Kilmer proceeded to explain his derogatory comments about the residents of New Mexico, he dropped the price of the ranch to $23 million. The ranch was bought last year by a Texas oil executive for $18.5 million.
The complaint originally named Kevin Bobolsky, Christopher Cortazzo, Tommy Gardner, Greg Antonsen, Coldwell Banker and Sotheby's International Realty as defendants, but since then, all defendants, with the exception of Sotheby’s International Realty, were dismissed without prejudice.
