It is important to report food injuries to the police and health department and to demand your physician or emergency room perform tests for a detailed diagnosis instead of accepting a diagnosis of food poisoning. Doctors can run tests that define the actual bug that caused the illness. Tests also allow the determination of the strain and that helps trace the origin of the illness.
It is challenging to prove fault in food poisoning cases because often the symptoms can take several days to appear and the last meal is not always the culprit.
