Phillips Law Group Warns Fatal Motorcycle Crashes Not Uncommon

(LegalLaw247.com, October 06, 2012 ) PHOENIX, Ariz. – Police identified the motorcyclist who was killed Tuesday after colliding with a van.

According to police, the victim was traveling eastbound when he collided with a 2004 Ford E350 van that turned left onto the roadway. The driver of the van failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, but he later died because of his injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

While this is a tragic accident, Phillips Law Group warns that fatal motorcycle accidents are not uncommon.

According to the personal injury law firm’s website, there were 4,502 motorcycle fatalities in 2010 alone.

Wearing a helmet while riding does reduce the risk of death by almost 30 percent, but that does not mean that a helmet eliminates the risk of a traffic fatality entirely.

Phillips Law Group urges all motorcyclists to exercise caution on Phoenix roadways. If you or a loved one does become injured in a motorcycle accident that was caused by the actions of another, the law firm offers free case evaluations so victims can explore their legal options.
