Arizona Man Dies after Being Electrocuted and Falling From Rooftop Reports Phillips Law Firm

(LegalLaw247.com, April 26, 2013 ) Glendale, AZ – On Thursday afternoon a Glendale worker was electrocuted while welding on a building rooftop near 51st Avenue and Camelback Road. The worker fell 20 feet off the rooftop and was pronounced dead on the scene by authorities.

The man was doing work for his employer when he somehow came into contact with live wires which caused the electrocution and a large power outage in the area. According to reports approximately 1,400 homes were affected by the power outage.

State work-site investigators plan on investigating the incident. This is the second electrocution that has caused a death in Glendale in the past month, in late March another man was electrocuted in a commercial yard although it was not related to a work accident.

Construction accidents are the cause for 17% of all work-related fatalities according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and electrocutions were the second leading cause of these fatalities. In 2011 approximately 67 worker deaths were attributed to construction electrocutions.

If you or a loved one has been injured or wrongfully killed in a construction accident due the negligence of another, the victim (or their beneficiaries) may be entitled to compensation for their losses. An experienced Arizona construction site accident attorney can help you determine if you may be entitled to make a claim against the careless individuals who caused the construction accident.
