Vector Marketing Lawsuit Attorneys Investigating Claims of Unpaid Training Wages

(LegalLaw247.com, May 17, 2013 ) New York, NY – The attorneys working with ClassAction.org are investigating allegations that Vector Marketing violated its legal obligation to pay employees for time spent in initial training sessions to learn how to sell Cutco knives. If you attended this initial training session, which typically lasts three to five days, you may be entitled to back wages in light of these allegations. To find out if you could be owed compensation for training time wages, please visit http://www.classaction.org/vector-marketing.html and fill out the form on the right.

A class action lawsuit in California, which has since been resolved, alleged that the company violated federal and state labor laws by failing to pay employees for time spent in initial training sessions. A federal law known as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires that employees must receive at least the minimum wage for all hours worked, which may include time spent in training, lectures and meetings. According to a Department of Labor fact sheet, training time “need not be counted as working time only if four criteria are met, namely: it is outside normal hours, it is voluntary, not job related, and no other work is concurrently performed.” According to the prior California class action, Vector was allegedly required to pay its employees at least the minimum wage for time spent in initial training sessions, but failed to do so.

If you attended initial training sessions to learn how to sell Cutco knives and were not paid at least the minimum wage, the attorneys working with ClassAction.org would like to hear from you – even if you never started selling the knives. The attorneys are trying to determine whether another class action lawsuit can be filed and need to hear from former trainees and employees to assist in their investigation.
