Fire On I-40 From Tractor Trailer, Riddle & Brantley Reports

(LegalLaw247.com, July 19, 2013 ) RALEIGH, N.C. – An early morning fire on July 17 backed traffic up for miles in the westbound lanes of Interstate-40, and WTVD-TV Raleigh-Durham News reports that the source of the blaze was a tractor trailer.

At 8 a.m. near exit 279 on NC-147, a tractor trailer burst into flames for an unknown reason, and crews worked to extinguish the fire for several hours, causing massive traffic backup due to several lanes being closed. At the time of the report it was unclear whether there were any injuries from the explosion, but authorities did successfully clear the area once they were on the scene.
