The affected stretch of Main Street near Hillcrest Road was shut down by the Glastonbury Fire Department until a single lane opened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. CNG officials also confirmed that residents still have gas in their homes and no injuries were reported from the incident.
Gas leaks can be extremely dangerous if not contained and combustion can result if the gas comes into contact with a heat source or open flame.
