Fifteen Law Students Selected to Compete at Bailey & Oliver Law Firm’s 5th Annual Closing Argument Competition

(LegalLaw247.com, October 10, 2013 ) Law Students from the University of Arkansas School of Law competed on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the 5th Annual Bailey and Oliver Law Firm Closing Argument Competition. The Competition was held at 9:00 AM in the courtroom of the Bailey and Oliver Law Firm in Rogers, AR.

The fifteen law students were selected to compete through an intra-law school competition and gave closing arguments on the topic of products liability. Students were judged by esteemed judges from diverse backgrounds. The ten judges included Judge Brad Karren, Judge William Storey, Don Campbell (Partner, Campbell and Grooms), Chesley Whiteside (Attorney, Asa Hutchinson Law Group), Tyler Benson (Attorney, Taylor Law Partners), Stacy Leeds (Dean, University of Arkansas School of Law), Dixon Platt (Pastor, Elm Springs United Methodist Church), Robert L. Jones III (Partner, Conner and Winters ), Christy Comstock (Partner, Everett and Wales), Michelle O'Neal (Attorney, Hershewe Law Firm).

The winner of the competition received $1,500, second place received $500, and third place received $250. The winners are going to be recognized at the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association's Continuing Legal Education event on October 11, 2013 at the University of Arkansas Global Campus.
