OÂ’Connor, Acciani & Levy Report Cold Spring Hit-and-Run Fatality

(LegalLaw247.com, October 09, 2013 ) COLD SPRING, KY — Attempting to cross the Alexandria Pike the morning of Tuesday, October 8, a Cold Spring man is now dead when he was struck by a vehicle, the driver fleeing the scene.

37-year-old Lenny James Shay was trying to cross the roadway when what officers are investigating as possibly a charcoal grey Toyota hit Shay near the Harvest Trail on US 27. The driver has not been found and police are asking for help from any witnesses who may be able to offer details on their identity or whereabouts.

Alexandria Pike was shut down for approximately four hours following the accident which occurred around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Hit-and-run collisions are not only a serious criminal offense but they can be some of the most deadly for the victims. Without the assistance of the uninjured driver to help them to safety, pedestrian hit-and-run victims are often left severely injured and without any way to get themselves to safety.
