Three Lives Saved by Naltrexone on Christmas Eve, Drug Rehab Newark Responds

(LegalLaw247.com, February 02, 2016 ) Newark, NJ -- According to WDEL, Master Corporal Mark Difrancesco of the Newark Police Department is credited with saving three lives on Christmas eve through administration of the anti-overdose Naltrexone. Difrancesco saved the lives of a 43 year old man, a 50 year old man, and a 60 year old woman during three separate responses to emergency calls regarding unresponsive people. Because of his training and ability to recognize the signs of overdose and quickly administer Naltrexone- which multiple law enforcement agencies now supply to all officers- Difrancesco was able to revive each patient before they were transferred to the Christiana Emergency room for additional care.

Drug Rehab Newark is well-versed in the benefits of Naltrexone. "Master Cpl Difrancesco's actions are a shining example of what the response to medical emergencies caused by overdose should be. Too often lives are lost due to fear of the legal ramifications; by focusing on saving lives rather than punishment, law enforcement can have a much more profound and positive effect on the substance abuse community.
